Director of Community Relations

Pacific Rim Christian University (www.pacrim.edu) is Hawaii's only accredited, local, Protestant university. It is a Hawaii non-profit corporation that began in 1998 as Pacific Rim Bible Institute. The university is sponsored by New Hope Oahu, and accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education. The university offers Associate, Bachelor's, and Master's degrees in Biblical studies, Theology, Christian Ministry, and Worship Arts. All teaching is done face-to-face in a Christian learning community. The university currently has 143 students, 21 staff members, and 40 part-time faculty members. The university is located in a warehouse across the street from the Sand Island campus of New Hope Oahu, which shares its meeting rooms and auditorium with the university.

The responsibilities of the Community Relations Director are to (1) plan and execute service projects or university participation in community events; (2) identify and implement opportunities for media exposure; (3) develop an alumni database and create events for alumni; (4) provide staff support for the annual Spring Gala Fundraiser, maintain the donor database, and plan donor events; and (5) in cooperation with the President and Board of Directors, establishing annual fundraising goals and devise and implement strategies for meeting those goals.

The university is seeking someone with a servant's heart who is committed to the mission of the university. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree or higher, with work experience in community relations, public relations, alumni relations, and/or fundraising. The Director should be able to work as a team member, and have strong organizational, written, oral communication, interviewing, and human relations skills.
