Aloha Chapter Statement of Diversity

AFP Aloha Chapter believes that diversity and inclusiveness are essential values that will help build healthy organizations and a healthy community. We embrace the responsibility and commitment that will realize this vision.

                 Friends of Diversity 2008 logo

The Friends of Diversity Designation recognizes those AFP chapters who have accomplished many of the key objectives outlined in the advancing diversity strategic goal.  This designation encourages chapters to perform specific activities designed to increase diversity within fundraising and public awareness of the importance of philanthropy in all cultures.

                        Diversity/Inclusion Assessment

The diversity/inclusion assessment is a tool designed to assist organizations, departments and programs in self-assessing their diversity and inclusion practices.  A facilitated discussion within your organization on your responses is a suggested next step. View document >>

Aloha Chapter Wins Prestigious National Diversity Award

We are proud to share with you that the Aloha Chapter has been awarded The Charles R. Stephens Excellence in Diversity Award for its diversity and inclusion efforts in 2008.

The Charles R. Stephens Excellence in Diversity Award is named for the 1992-1993 AFP Chair Charles R. Stephens, CFRE and recognizes his efforts in bringing AFP’s diversity programs to the forefront.  This award honors the year’s most outstanding demonstration by AFP chapters of leadership, creativity and initiative in building diversity in membership or programming.  The award is designed both to recognize achievement and to promote the sharing of ideas among AFP chapters and nonprofit organizations.

Congratulations to all!  May our chapter continue to model excellence in diversity and inclusion practices.  If you are interested in being a part of our Diversity/Inclusion Committee, please contact Monica Grant at mgrant@ymcahonolulu.org or 541-5473.
