AFP Aloha Chapter CFRE Event: "Is CFRE for ME?" & Membership Pau Hana

Have you ever wondered what’s involved with obtaining a Certified Fund Raising Executive credential (CFRE)? Why is this credential important? How can it help your career? 

Join our AFP Aloha Chapter Professional Advancement session “Is CFRE for ME” and hear from new and seasoned CFRE professionals about the benefits to obtaining your CFRE designation, what’s involved, and better understand how, through this certification, you can learn the highest standards of ethics and competence in the philanthropic sector.

After the panel presentation, stay for the membership pau hana! Enjoy some pupus, drinks, and a great view. Network and share in fellowship with your colleagues, old and new.

Pau Hana: 5:00pm - 6:30pm (Ocean Room)

CFRE Panelists:

Kristy Bates, CFRE

Ms. Bates has been the Director of Individual Giving at 'Iolani School since 2013 and has been working for over 14 years in the fundraising field. Kristi was previously the Director of Development at the University of Hawai'i Foundation working with various colleges. She served as Education Chair for the 2013 AFP Aloha Chapter National Philanthropy Day (NPD) Conference. Receiving her certification in 2015, Kristi is one of the more recent AFP members to receive a CFRE designation. 

KC Collins, CFRE

Ms. Collins has been working in the fundraising field for 14 years and is the Executive Director of Development for Regional and Community Colleges at the University of Hawai‘i Foundation. KC currently serves on the AFP Aloha Chapter board as its Membership Chair and has also served as board Secretary. She received her CFRE certification in 2009. KC's past board experience includes the Robert E. Lee Memorial Association and The Garden Club of Honolulu.

Bette Mastrantonio, CFRE

Ms. Mastrantonio has over 15 years of fundraising experience and currently serves as the AFP Aloha Chapter Treasurer. Bette has held several Aloha Chapter board positions in the past including Membership and National Philanthropy Day (NPD) Chair. Prior to her retirement, Bette served as the Director of Development at the American Red Cross, Hawaii State Chapter. Bette received her CFRE certification in 2002 and received her MBA degree from Chaminade University of Honolulu in 2007.

S. Sanae Tokumura, ACFRE, APR

Ms. Tokumura, president of the Honolulu firm Solid Concepts, Inc., is a fundraising and public relations consultant. She is also the President of the AFP Aloha Chapter. Sanae is nationally advance-certified (ACFRE) in fund raising, the terminal professional credential offered by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Out of a field of over 26,000 professionals, she was the 38th ACFRE in the international community of fundraisers and remains the only ACFRE in Hawaii. She is also nationally accredited (APR) in the practice of public relations.
